How We Select Our Contractors

We apply a rigorous selection process to every builder who wishes to partner with us:

Certification and Accreditation – Every contractor must hold valid trade certification and health & safety credentials in line with UK Construction Regulations 2015.
Proven Expertise – We review completed projects, client feedback and on-site performance to confirm consistent delivery quality.
Financial and Insurance Checks – Comprehensive verification of insurances, warranties and professional indemnity to protect our clients and their investments.
Technical Collaboration – Each builder must demonstrate the ability to coordinate with our architects, engineers and project managers throughout the construction stage.

Only those who meet our standards become approved members of the Winchester Design and Build Contractor Network.

The Members’ Area – Transparency for Every Client

To give clients complete visibility, we have developed a dedicated Members’ Area of our website — an interactive space where trust meets technology.

When you begin your project with us, your appointed architect and project manager will create a secure client account within the Members’ Area.
Here you can:

View the approved builder profiles and read their experience summaries
Track the current stage and progress of your build in real time
Access planning documents, drawings and reports
Receive notifications and photographs from site updates
Communicate directly with your Winchester Design and Build team

This digital interface keeps you fully briefed and remotely connected to your project, ensuring clarity, accountability and complete peace of mind.

Our Construction Teams

Our construction teams include NHBC-registered site managers, MCS-certified renewable energy installers, Gas Safe engineers and NICEIC-approved electricians.
We coordinate them under a unified project management structure led by your assigned Winchester Design and Build architect.

This structure ensures:

High-standard workmanship monitored through quality-control inspections
Full compliance with Building Regulations Parts A–M, CDM 2015, and local authority requirements

Becoming an Approved Builder

If you are an experienced, accredited builder who shares our values and wish to join our contractor network, we welcome applications through our Members’ Portal.
All applicants must demonstrate:

Proven delivery of residential and commercial projects within the last five years
Full insurance, compliance certification and risk-assessment records
Commitment to collaborative working with architects and designers
Dedication to quality, sustainability and client satisfaction
